Upcoming Election

Many blogs deal with this subject. So far, I have yet to pick a candidate. The only one I would have probably voted for has already dropped out (Fred). Other than him, I am not overly thrilled with any of them. I can't say I am sure I am still a Republican because I hate today's GOP party. I don't think any of them are credible or have my best interest in mind. The Dem's (or Jackasses as I prefer to call them - and I cleaned that up) are making me ill with their claims of "fixing" America. That's funny, I didn't think it was broke. I am not in favor of, nor have I ever been, the Gulf War. (I hate to call it that because I was there for the ORIGINAL gulf war - Ranger Battle Group onboard USS Valley Forge (CG50)). Todays Gulf War is a screw up that will haunt us much like Vietnam did for many years to come. I do however, SUPPORT THE TROOPS who continue to fight even though there is clearly nothing they are fighting for. Ask them. They are proud, and will support their Commander in Chief, but silently they wonder what the hell we are doing. I have two nephews who have served tours. One Airborne, one Marine. Airborne has been twice and with any luck will not have to return for a third tour. He is currently applying to the WO program and wants to fly helicopters. I have mixed feelings about that. I am proud he is still career oriented but silently I am scared to death. Becoming a helicopter pilot sounds like a one way ticket to Iraq. But I'm proud of both of them either way. I a hoping that the Marine is out before he can be redeployed. Regardless, whoever that's elected will have no better way to get us out of this mess than any of the others.
Iraq is not why 9/11 happened. It happened because our intelligence agencies were stripped of their power to interdict and intercept thanks to Billary. Oh sure, Bush is an idiot and you can blame him for the mess in Iraq, but Billary is the real culprit. Our military was weaken to the point that it took massive recruiting to get us ready for Afghanistan. Thank GOD for Special Forces. Without them, we would have never made the progress we did in Afghanistan. They are true hero's and don't get near enough praise (nor do they expect it).
On 9/11, I still say way too much emphasis is placed on the twin towers, and the Pentagon is all but ignored. I had fellow shipmates that died there that day. I still have yet to see any of their photos in the media. On military websites and posts, but never in the main stream, liberal media. I still don't know what to believe about the plane that "went down" in Pensylvania. I secretly like to believe we shot that sucker down. There has been too much Hollywood hype put into it that I don't know whether I can fully buy off on the widely "known report". Maybe I'm wrong and they were truely heros that brought down that plane. I just don't think we can trust our media to acurately report anything so I'm suspicious of anything I see.
In any case, with any luck, Billary and Osama Obama won't be our next President. I can't imagine the world with either of them in power. Where is Ronald Regan when we need him.......
